Course Information

Each course will be of 12 weeks duration.

1. Healthcare Messaging Overview

Aim: To provide on overview of the healthcare messaging standards including basic information on HL7 standards implementation and usage.

2. HL7 for Message Developers

Aim: To provide in depth educational experiences for programmers and software developers to enable them to implement HL7 messages and provide system interoperability in the health care industry sector.

3. Managing HL7 projects and interfaces

Aim: To provide sufficient depth and breadth about issues associated with the management of HL7 projects and interfaces to prepare project managers and system engineers for HL7 message implementation in the health care industry.

At this stage the HL7 Education curriculum is still being developed. We anticipate that our first courses will be open for enrolment in early 2004. Please check back then to see what we have on offer.

4. Electronic Health Records and Standards – HLTH29030

Aim: to facilitate its graduates to make the best possible use of new and evolving information and communication technologies now being introduced in the health sector. This is expected to transform the way health care is delivered, documented, reported and researched to improve health outcomes and facilitate greater consumer involvement in their own healthcare.
